Mapelis started the way most things worth doing start, with a frustration and a refusal to settle.

I am the founder of Mapelis Skincare. By nature, I am someone who builds. I have built houses, done woodwork, and tackled more renovations than I can count. If something can be understood, taken apart, and made better  that is where I want to be.

So when I looked at what was available in natural skincare and saw how much compromise was involved, I didn’t just walk away frustrated. I went back to first principles.

What I brought to the workbench wasn’t a traditional beauty industry background. It was a Chemical Engineer’s understanding of formulation and chemistry, the precision of someone who spent years in finance where every detail matters, and the hands of someone who has spent a lifetime making things from scratch.

The Problem I Couldn't Ignore

Skincare should be deliberate, transparent, and effective.

What I found on store shelves instead was compromise after compromise:

• Formulas built around clever marketing trends rather than ingredient performance.
• Fillers that added nothing to the skin feel or overall experience.
• High price points that promised premium quality but delivered flat results.

I decided to build something better.

I applied everything I know about process engineering to one of the most personal things we put on our bodies every single day.

I approached cosmetic chemistry as a strict discipline: the science of stable emulsions, the behavior of botanical oils, the art of natural preservation, and the exact temperature control and pH testing that separates a high-performance formula from a home experiment.

• Dozens of test batches.
• Hundreds of hours of formulation research.
• Countless adjustments to get the texture, the skin feel, and the moisturizing performance exactly right.

Every formula started with one simple question: Would I put this on my own skin every single day? If the answer was anything less than an immediate yes, it went right back to the workbench.

What We Built

The result is Mapelis.

Every ingredient is chosen deliberately for what it actually delivers  not just how it looks on a label. Every batch is crafted in small quantities with the exact same care I bring to everything I build with my hands.

Globally Curated, Canadian Engineered:  We combine homegrown Canadian forest extracts (like upcycled Red Maple Bark extract) with the finest globally sourced botanicals from West African shea butter to Italian olive-derived emulsifiers. Every raw material is imported for its purity, then brought to our workbench in Hamilton, Ontario to be custom-formulated.
